DAFT PUNK INTERVIEW!
Zoals jullie misschien al weten is de Alive tour van DAFT PUNK (Thomas Bangalter & Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo) bijna afgelopen. Nog een paar optredens in Japan en Australië en dan hebben ze de hele wereld gehad. Wegens groot succes en wellicht ook nog wat extra zakkenvullerij wordt de hele liveset van Daft Punk van hun Alive tour verkocht als album. Je koopt het in de vorm van een boekje, met schitterende foto's van de optredens gemaakt door DJ FALCON. Er is ook een special edition te koop, deze bevat de toegave die ze gaven in hun show met nummers van diezelfde DJ Falcon. Het album koop je HIER, of elke andere webstore of cd-winkel natuurlijk.
Om het album flink te promoten, duikt Daft Punk plotseling overal op in de media. Zo kon je vragen aan ze stellen op een chat-room waar ze een uur lang vragen beantwoordden. Het was vrij lastig om tot die chat-room te worden toegelaten, maar ik was erbij! Ik zet een selectie van de vragen neer:
What gigs did you enjoy the most from the Alive tour?
Guy-Manuel - all gigs were great, too good ones to mention! Thanks the fans!
Thomas - every show of the tour was great, many different experiences
Wasn’t it hard with those helmets on the tour, especially in summertime?
Thomas - very hot, very hard summer inside the helmets
Guy-Manuel - its like formula one but standing up without water
How long did it take you to set up the pyramid, used at the Alive tour?
Thomas - 3 months to rehearse and set up the pyramid
Thomas, you used to perform in clubs too. Are there any plans to pick this up in 2008?
Thomas - no plans for clubs in 2008
What did u guys used for the guitar distortion on “Robot Rock”?
Guy-Manuel - most of the guitars sound are made with synths!
Thomas - on robot rock, moog synthesizer and guitar pedals
Will you also release a Alive DVD?
Thomas - no alive dvd
Guy-Manuel - no alive dvd planned, videos on the net are the closest to the live experience
Will you release a soundtrack CD from Electroma?
Thomas - no
Are you guys planning to make a new album or film?
Thomas - more films and more music for the future
What's your point of view about the evolution of the electro mondial scene and do you think there is still place to innovate?
Thomas - its getting harder to innovate
What are your favorite type of synthesizers?
Guy-Manuel - moog synthesizers
What do you guys want for christmas?
Thomas - a new silver polish for me :)
You used Ableton Live at the Alive tour didn’t you?
Guy-Manuel - yes ableton
What type of midi controllers do you use in the live show?
Thomas - bcr2000 behringer and moog voyager
What are your current favorite producers?
Guy-Manuel - timbaland, kanye, pharrell and dr.dre of course..waiting for Detox
Thomas - sebastian , kavinsky
If you could go back and do it all again, what would you do differently?
Thomas - nothing
Guy-Manuel - we wouldn’t do things differently.. all good like that
What do you guys think of Justice, the next Daft Punk?
Thomas – Justice makes good music

Guy-Manuel - kanye west in paris
Thomas - we saw kanye perform in paris last week
